Cozy Retreats
Thoughtful spaces designed as a place to unwind and recharge.
A LITTLE ROOM
A lot of possibility.
With limited space to work with, Halle's room called for a little creativity. We designed a custom lofted bed to make the most of every square foot, with built-in desk and vanity area tucked underneath for all the things a teenage girl needs. I designed the setup, and Jake brought it to life, turning one compact footprint into a space for sleeping, perfecting the art of nail design and getting ready.
We color-drenched the walls, bed and desk in a soft, earthy green, then went a couple shades darker on the doors and floor trim for a little contrast. Floral curtains, warm wood accents, and an oversized cozy chair add layers of texture and softness.
THE RESULT IS A ROOM THAT FEELS INCREDIBLY COZY AND FUNCTIONAL—AND HAS THIS MAMA WISHING SHE'D SPEND JUST A LITTLE LESS TIME IN THERE.

Fit for a master.
OUR OWN LITTLE RETREAT
The big goal for our master bedroom was to create some much needed character. We started with a fresh coat of paint, layered in cozy bedding, added some fun sconce lights and a metal door for our bathroom. The finishing touch was the ceiling beams that brought some warmth to the space.
Because this room doubles as the family’s unofficial getting-ready station, floor-length mirrors were a must. Between hair styling and outfit checks, we needed a space that worked for real life, too.
The mix of warm wood, modern metal, rich earthy tones and thoughtful details brought everything together.
Long live boyhood.
Hank’s room called for a look that was a little more rugged and masculine so we went with deep, moody blue walls surrounding a custom built bed. We opted to tuck storage underneath, making the most of the space without sacrificing style.
The custom metal sign above his bed started as one of my ideas and was brought to life by my brother. The hat wall adds another personal touch (and gives his ever growing collection a home), while layered bedding and warm, earthy tones soften the look just enough.
