Everyday Spaces, Rethought
Taking the spaces we use every day and making them a little more enjoyable.
MOVING THE DIRTY LAUNDRY ... LITERALLY
Reclaiming our master bathroom.
When we moved into Rocky Step, the washer and dryer were tucked into the master bathroom. Like most people, I didn't enjoy waking up and seeing the loads of dirty clothes needing to be washed first thing in the morning—it wasn't exactly ideal. We wanted to give the laundry its own space and, in the process, make room for a more functional master bathroom.
We created a dedicated laundry room with everything we actually needed, then took back our master bath making it our own oasis.
A SMALL CHANGE IN LAYOUT MADE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN HOW BOTH SPACES WORK FOR US.

BEFORE + AFTER
Small spaces,
big expectations.
MAKING EVERY INCH WORK A LITTLE HARDER.
Both the kids' bathroom and the downstairs half bath are small spaces, so we had to be thoughtful about how we used every inch. We wanted them to feel finished and intentional without sacrificing the storage and function our family actually needed.
Both bathrooms needed a complete overhaul. The kids' bathroom got new tile on the shower walls and floors, along with practical storage and a few details to give it some personality. With even less room to work with downstairs, we decided to have a little more fun in the half bath, adding a bold wall treatment and moody color to make a statement.
Every day life, just a little prettier.
All in a day's work.
Because I work from home, these aren't rooms we only use once in a while. They're part of our everyday routine. I've learned that when you make the spaces around you feel good, it can actually change how you feel going through your day.
So we gave the office and workout space the same attention we gave the rest of the house. A little personality, a few thoughtful details and enough to make you actually want to be in the room. Because if you're going to spend a good part of your day there, why shouldn't you enjoy it?
