A new chapter for Main Street.
UR Café began somewhere else, in a smaller space outside of town. When my brothers at Iron Timbers purchased this old Main Street building, they invited UR Café to make it their new home.
The seemingly forgotten building on Main St. had spent years being used mostly for storage, but underneath it was a beautiful, expansive space with plenty of history and character. The goal wasn't to make it feel new. It was to give it a new purpose while letting the building's original character remain part of the story.
WHAT WAS ONCE OVERLOOKED BECAME A PLACE DESIGNED TO BE NOTICED, SHARED AND ENJOYED BY THE OSGOOD COMMUNITY.

THE DESIGN DIRECTION
Old bones.
Fresh perspective.
The design challenge was finding the balance between the building's historic character and the relaxed, modern feel of UR Café.
Mixed woods, dark metal, an abundance of light and comfortable furnishings bring warmth into the space, while the original scale and industrial elements of the building remain part of the experience.

Designed for connection.
Every choice was made with the way people would actually use the café in mind. Different seating areas create different opportunities to gather, while the lighting and furnishings help bring the scale of the building down to a more comfortable level.
THE RESULT IS A SPACE THAT FEELS JUST AS COMFORTABLE FOR A QUICK COFFEE AS IT DOES FOR A LONG CONVERSATION.
